Hate and appreciation are the first 2 words that come to mind as soon as I think about what I read. Those are 2 very strong words used for the same reason and by two very different individuals.
Hate was what Enkidu felt against the hunter who saw him, the hunter who told Gilgamesh about Enkidu unsetting the traps the hunter had put for the gazelles and animals near the watering holes. The traps the hunter had set for Enkidu's family. Enkidu hopes for the worst for the hunter, for him to live a life of misery just because he had seen Enkidu. He also wishes the worst for the temple prostitute, the one that took him away from the watering hole and into Uruk, the one that seduced him and took away his family and everything he had previously known.
Appreciation was what Gilgamesh wanted everybody to feel towards Enkidu for all the great things he had done. He wanted the people who where saved by Enkidu from the bull to be thankfull and appreciative of the efforts Enkidu had done to save Uruk. He also wanted all the people. Gilgamesh wants everybody to mourn for Enkidu because he had meant so much to Gilgamesh, he had been like the brother he never had, the companion he never found or the person that stood up to him when nobody else had.
